I've discovered that all the players at my table (279662538) see the same graphical interface as me. This UI is really counterintuitive. What I'm referring to is that I'm the player at the lower end of the table but when other players load the table it should have them in that lower spot. If that's not clear from my explanation, just have a look at the player layout for many other trick takers, Barbu, Minnesota Whist, Skat, etc. The way it's set up in this game is jarring since it doesn't match the standardized player expectations, so I think this change is a very non-controversial improvement. I can't think of any benefit to keeping the layout as it is.
